Strong yes, but nothing disturbing here. This is an encouraging thing to me as Condor is not available in the USA anymore. I enjoyed this, and find it easy to recommend. I have to relite several times in the course of a bowl, but that is no big deal, as the smoke is very pleasant and sweet. This was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. The Virginias build in depth and character while the Kentucky slowly builds and begins to assert dominance. It took a match and burned without drama. I mean you could easily kill someone who only smokes American aromatics if you give them a big bowl of this. I liked it; my wife did not like the way it smelled. Lovers of stronger Lakeland style blends should have this one on the must try list. Not sure how to describe the taste because it is different but for me I give it top rating. I agree that this is a strong tobacco however I find it more than manageable if smoked as intended. While I haven't completely given up on Bracken Flake, I hesitate to recommend it to Virginia tobacco lovers. By mid bowl, the burley comes through complimenting the Virginia while the nicotine starts to kick in. Is "wierd" too subjective? The stuff smells awful: heavy, sweet, and medicinal.
