Do not expect much out of box. also mine came with an alright edge but i dont really intend on beating this thing up so no worries but once agian trueswords has done it 5 of 5. Everything on it holds up so far. Overall, Nice Sword, Heavy As HELL, But Just As Cool. this Item looks exactly like the one from the movie and I have seen the movie over 1,000 times. This is a great Sword for Display, All in All I Love it. I would recommend it to anyone. a very heavy sword, wonderful for hack and slash. leaving that semantic aside, the weapon itself is wicked to look at, even more wicked to hold, definitely would not recommend for actual usage though, the handle is far to weak to be hacking at things, even if the blade is razor sharp. Plus, the gorilla glue expands to fill voids and sticks it all together as one unit. i can't get the backstrap on
all in all its a amazing buy. it was awesome and cut through wood. Great buy, highly recommend! I'm sure you could probably put a better edge on it with a machine wheeled grinder. Its ok, except it is cheaply made the handle falls apart, it was never made good. This sword is absolutely amazing. I was amazed by the raw strength of this blade, having seen several "mock-ups", and purchased a pale imitator. I feel powerful swinging this beast around. Came sharpened and pre oiled. It is a great display piece, looks just like the 300 props. Seems fairly sharp though I have not really inspected it (got it right before class) and overall the quality is very good, the handle is somewhat short making it somewhat unbalanced but since the blade is so giant and thick I can let that one slide. I tested it on branches outside that needed trimming, and the hardest thing is the weight of this thing. It was in great condition and came quick! Only thing i found was you have to be careful putting it back into the sheath, the blade will slice right through the leather even before i sharpened it, A nice, hefty, 4.5 pounds of bad-A steel! they are beautiful. lol.
